Antique Miniature Portrait Paintings Boy & Girl Siblings In Clouds 1840s 1860s pinhead Early-1860s opalotype of a manTwo original miniature portraits of a boy and a girl in matching velvet push button cases. These look a lot like the work of the artist John Carlin ((1813 1891), but are not signed anywhere I can see. Both portraits are protected behind cover glass. They appear to be painted on oval wafers (unsure of the material since I have never taken these apart) on top of some background. I believe the velvet cases date to the 1850s or 1860s, so the paintings
