The 1st generation Calcite grew as scalenohedral, forming the foundation for future growths. Tabular and trigonal Calcites then grew over it, giving rise to the current look; however, this growth was interrupted by a sudden dense formation of chalcopyrite at the tips of the 1st generation Calcite, and at sporadic spots around the cluster.
