we strive to maintain as much of the natural tree as possible in the finished piece

Maple Burl #2409 care product now experience it come aliveEach carved burl is a unique piece. When carving, we strive to follow the naturally grown exterior form to achieve a balance between the natural exterior and our smooth carved interior. 18" x 12" x 7" We buried this burl in the ground under wood shavings to age and darken. Once aged to our satisfaction, we carve, dry, sand and finish the burl over the course of a month.
