so these were likely foraged on one of my father's beloved excursions into the woods

This item is a stem of Great Globe Thistle from the 1990's and is displayed in a small or large cloche

therefore these were most likely grown on our Long Island farm

He shipped them back to Southern California to be processed. The flowers are from Pink Dogwood trees but the preservation process changes the color slightly to reflect more of a purple.
